Our Trip to El Paso, Texas!

Patrick's Brother, Doug and his family are living in El Paso where Doug serves in the Army. We decided to head down there to spend a long weekend with them.

Here is Anderson's First Plane ride.  He fell asleep right before take-off and slept through our Oakland Transfer (we didn't get off the plane) He woke up right after landing in Los Angeles. As you can see, he slept quite comfortably on the seat back tray tables...haha. The flight attendant laughed and said he had never seen anyone do that before.
We landed in L.A. and Anderson was allowed to go into the Cock-pit with the pilot...He definately earned his wings for this leg of the trip. Can't beat a sleeping baby:)

here are his little wings that the Pilot gave him:)
We had a 3 hour layover in L.A. and continued on to El Paso. The flight was not full so Anderson got his own seat. We set him up with all of his toys and his music:) He was happy the whole way! it was awesome! He loved being seat belted in. What a champ!
We got in too late to see the kiddos awake, but morning came and we were so excited to see them!
We headed to the zoo for the morning.
We saw lots of awesome Animals.
Lesa's best friend, Anna and her family joined us. It was a perfect day for the zoo. It was sunny, but not too hot. It was Awesome!

 Carseat Silliness!
 YUMMY!
I just love the little quaint houses in the city. They are so cute and unique!
Here is El Paso. Look at the Border to Mexico.. it is packed. so many people coming and going!
This is Anderson's Girl friend. Her name is Jillian and she is 3 days older than him and is so cute! I love love love the top left picture...Anderson is like..."OY, What do I say to her"? and she is like "What's His Problem?" hahaha
They were so cute to watch together. He is bigger than her, but not by much...lol
We had a BBQ with some friend of Doug and Lesa's at their house. It was really fun. No party is complete without a little Rock Band on the XBOX and a Just Dance on Wii.
Doug got his hands on some free tickets to see the University of Texas El Paso Game. Anderson was not a fan of all the loud cheering. Patrick got him to sleep and used a burp cloth to muffle the sound. It didn't work for very long and Patrick walked the halls with him. It was a fun game...GO UTEP!
The next morning was a lazy morning. It was great to not have anywhere to go and to just relax:)
Later on that day, we headed to the Cattleman's Rance and Steakhouse. We jumped on the Tour Bus for a Tour around the Ranch.
This is an old home that the wealthy Ranchers would live in.

We were also taken to an open space at the Ranch where they filmed a scene from the movie "Courage Under Fire"

After getting off the Tour bus we started to look around and explore when Ashlynne stuck her finger in the Rabbit's cage and got bit. We had to leave which was a bummer cause we were all excited to look around and possibly eat there later. We dropped Lesa, Doug and Ashlynne off at the Hospital where she got two stitches.
Patrick and I took the boys to Jungle Jaks while Ashlynne got her stitches!
The next day was our last day. We relaxed and hung out in the back yard and roasted Marshmallows and played in the sun!

We stopped off in New Mexico for a bit so we could Cross it off our list of States we have visited:)
Then we Headed to Chick-Fil-A for Lunch...IT WAS DELICIOUS and JUST AS AMAZING AS I HAD REMEMBERED!!! YUM. I wish they had them here. Hopefully someday!
Saying goodbye was SOOOOO HARD!!! I didn't expect it to be as emotional as it was. Lesa started the waterworks which got me going. It will be a while before we see them again and Doug will be leaving for Iraq later on in the year. VERY SAD and we will miss him terribly!
Here is Anderson in his "New Mexican Ole' Outfit" We had so much fun and hope to get back there sometime. Thanks for Everything guys! WE LOVE YOU TONS AND BUNCHES!
SLEEPY BOY!!

I love your collages!! Can I copy the pictures of Jillian and Anderson?

I like how the pictures of Ashlynne's finger are nestled in with the happy bunnies. Poor baby.

It was so fun to meet you guys! Hopefully you get to visit again. Remember, the first and second weekends in October are always the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. And it is well worth the trip!
